My role: Development & 3D Modeling

The idea
The New Yorker’s interactive documentary examines the killing of civilians by U.S. Marines in Haditha, Iraq, in 2005. Its 3D scenes help readers understand the places at the center of the reporting.
What I built
I contributed development and 3D modeling during the final weeks of production. I cleaned up models and textures so the scenes could run in a browser.
I also worked on parts of the interactive story interface and improved its performance and layout on phones.
The result
Cleared by Fire won a Peabody Award in 2025. The award recognizes the documentary and its team; my credited contributions were development and 3D modeling.
